Development of a price monitoring system for socially significant food products

Price monitoring system for socially significant food products: retail, wholesale, and distribution centers in one picture, automatic signals, and inspector visits

Project BAĞA

Next.jsReactTypeScriptLeafletTelegram Bot API

The task

Prices for socially significant food products across the region were tracked by hand: retail, wholesale, and distribution center prices were merged into spreadsheets, excessive markups were noticed late, and there was no way to confirm on-site checks.

What we did

We built an information and analytics system: prices from retail chain websites are collected every night, wholesale and distribution center prices are imported from Excel, and residents send complaints via a Telegram bot. Seven rules detect overpricing, an analyst turns a signal into a task, and a monitoring group closes it with a photo of the price tag and a geotag. For management — a dashboard with a map and a weekly report in Excel and PDF. Five roles, two languages.

Results

Excessive markups and sharp price jumps are detected by rules automatically, with no manual spreadsheet review

A visit can only be closed with a price tag photo and a geotag — the inspection result can be verified

The weekly district report builds itself and exports to Excel and PDF for the meeting
